My Story

Six years ago I was sitting on the couch, Netflix streaming in the background, on my third glass of wine and I remember thinking, “my life is in shambles.” I was eight years in to what many would consider a thriving corporate career and life in NYC. I had the salary, the team, the title, the apartment, the designer clothes.

Yet, I was miserable. I felt doomed and lost. The worst part? I didn’t know what to do about it. I had NO north star. I worked like a maniac by day and numbed out any way I could by night. So I stayed stuck because I didn’t know what else to do.

Three years ago a mentor told me about a coaching program that I signed up for only because I thought it would look good on my resume.

I walked in on that first day to these vibrant people milling around the room asking “What is your dream?” I froze. I panicked. Did I even have any dreams?

I blurted the first thing that came to my mind: TO TRAVEL.

What took place over the next six months was the universe throwing me a life vest. And I grabbed it and buckled up. I made bold and rapid decisions to change my life. To get out of the rut and onto the road in search of who I was and my purpose. I convinced my company to let me do my job remotely, turned down a 200K job offer, I moved out of my beloved studio with a dishwasher, I put 10 years of my life in a storage unit and booked a one way ticket to Seoul, South Korea. I spent the next 14 months traveling to six continents and 24 countries excavating every part of my mind, body and soul. The path was unknown, but I was determined to walk it. I started meditating, I started journaling, I hired a coach, I had more crying-on-the-bathroom floor moments than I can remember. I found teachers all over the world waiting for me– from healers in Bali to gurus in India to a boyfriend in Spain.

They all lead me back to my greatest teacher of all. Me.

I reconnected to myself, realigned my career and redesigned my entire life. Now I am on a mission to help women all over the world do the same.

Since then, I have left the corporate world for good and moved to Mexico City where I live life on my terms. I started my coaching business and am committed to a healthy work life balance (i.e. 30 hours a week). I prioritize my health, my community and ME.

Here is what I learned:

  • Our purpose in this life is to evolve into the most authentic expression of ourselves. Our purpose is not found in a job, a salary, a title, a boyfriend, apartment, or location.

  • You can choose to stay stuck or you can choose to change your life. That choice is yours and you can make it at any time.

  • You are your best and most important investment.

  • When you are living in alignment with your truth and values, your life will flow. It doesn’t have to be hard. It’s when you go against the grain, life feels like a struggle.

  • You don’t have to have all the answers. You just have to start the journey. The answers will appear.
